Red Emmalie is a unique red skinned fingerling variety with gorgeous redish pink flesh. This variety not only tastes great but its rich flesh colour is high in antioxidants and other nutritious health benefits. Red Emmalie was discovered in Germany and is quickly gaining popularity in countries such as the U.K., Germany, and the Netherlands as a novelty garden variety. This variety matures later in the season. It does not require a lot of Nitrogen. To avoid massive plants and small potatoes do not over fertilize or use too much compost.

Planting, maturity and harvest times

Plant in mid-May for a mid-September harvest. About 100 days till maturity. Space 25-35 cm (10″- 14″) apart. Do not over fertilize and avoid excess Nitrogen in the soil.

Cooking Applications

A versatile and nutritious fingerling variety with delicious pinkish red flesh. It has slightly mealy flesh texture and is suitable for oven-roasting and pan-frying. Delicious wedges or pink hashbrowns make for interesting breakfasts too!

Approximately 4 months at 6 degrees Celsius.
