Variety country of origin: United Kingdom
Planting, maturity and harvest times
Gemson is a medium early maturing variety. Plant Gemson around mid-May for a nice crop of baby potatoes ready about the middle of August. 75-85 days till maturity. Space approximately 25 cm (10″) apart (you can also space Gemson further apart to allow the potatoes to grow bigger). Gemson is a great variety for container gardening. It does well even in smaller containers.
Cooking Applications
Gemson is a tasty potato suitable for steaming and boiling. It works well in potato salads and is excellent for roasting in the oven. If Gemson is grown out to a larger size it can also be made into home-made fries due to an increase in starch as the potato gets larger.
Storage
Approximately 5 months at 6 degrees Celsius.
